Size 8.25" x 5.5", 180 pages. Brown cloth with paper title label to the spine. Top page edge gilt, outer edge rough cut. With a clean spare spine title label tipped-in at the back of the book. Condition very good, cover slightly toned, paper title label slightly chipped and toned. Owner's bookplate on front pastedown else contents clean. With tissue-protected frontispiece of Rupert Brooke from a photograph by Sherril Schell. With a Preface by Henry James. James believed that, had he survived the War, Brooke would have been one of England's greatest writers. This essay was James' last work before his death.
